“The Bevel” is a luxurious high-rise apartment building located in Long Island City, part of the emerging metropolitan area of New York. The design concept is inspired by the urban forest, boldly incorporating extensive vertical greenery and artificial water feature into the industrial-themed space. These elements, combined with the unique architectural structure, create a vibrant and dynamic atmosphere for the project. In harmony with the softness of nature, the designers have also utilized a significant amount of glazzing surfaces and exposed concrete, materials that show strong industrial aesthetic. Through the composition of these elements, nature and civilization seamlessly merge. This project has been selected as a finalist in the 2022 NYC x DESIGN AWARDS.
